San Marzano tomatoes are a type of plum tomatoes that originated in Italy’s Campania region. They are popular for their great taste and quality, particularly when used for canning, making sauce, or producing tomato paste. These tomatoes are meaty and have fewer seeds compared to other varieties. San Marzano tomatoes are indeterminate, and they have a longer growing season than other types of paste tomatoes.
